How is the estimate calculated?
The selected area in cm² is multiplied by the density you choose. Each area is rounded to the nearest whole graft and added to the total. The hair estimate multiplies that total by your chosen hairs-per-graft figure.
The diagram uses example area sizes, which you can change in the size fields. It does not measure your scalp, account for existing hair or assess the number of grafts that can safely be taken from your donor area. The numbered regions are selection zones, not Norwood or Ludwig stages.

Graft calculator questions
Is a graft the same as a hair?
No. A scalp graft can contain more than one hair. The calculator shows grafts and hairs separately, using the average you select.
Can I select more than one area?
Yes. Select several regions on the diagram or in the list. The total updates immediately. Selecting an area again removes it.
Does a higher number mean a better result?
No. Graft placement, existing hair and donor supply all matter. Increasing the slider changes the calculation; it does not show whether that density is appropriate for you.
Can this tell me whether surgery is suitable?
No. The cause of hair loss and the donor area need to be assessed. This applies to men, women and eyebrow restoration. Book a consultation to discuss your options.
